Jamaican Dancehall Star Malie Donn to Tour Canada February 14, 15, 16

Jamaican dancehall renegade Malie Donn will tour Canada from February 14 to 16, 2025.

Presented by Twisted Entertainment, the Don Julio performing artist will meet and greet with fans as well as showcase the earned hype he is receiving from Canadian fans.

In November, 2024, Malie Donn released his much anticipated EP entitled The Grand Rising.  The EP followed on the successful release of singles such as “Crook,” “Paper Chaser” and his monster hit “V6” which has garnered tens of millions of streams.

Building on that momentum, and given that Canada is Malie Donn’s #2 market (he averages 21K streams on Spotify in Toronto), it is fitting that he tour the market, and share the energy he gave to his Reggae Sumfest and 4 Shooters Only’s “From the Block” series performances.

Malie’s hold on the Dancehall scene is presented in his EP.  Produced by Dan Sky and Attomatic, the song “Don Julio” is charged with the adrenaline of success and recounts Malie’s indulgent encounters, backed by a shadowy, immersive beat.

The title “Don Julio” nods to the tequila brand that has rapidly gained popularity across the U.S. and Canada, with frequent shoutouts from artists like Drake and Travis Scott making it a staple in hip hop and youth culture. The track taps into this cultural crossover, where Caribbean rhythms and hip-hop aesthetics intertwine, with Malie reflecting on the pleasures of fame and the carefree lifestyle that comes with it, while staying true to his dancehall roots.

As Billboard’s Kyle Denis highlighted last year, “V6” is part of a modern wave of dancehall captivating audiences globally. “Don Julio” builds on that momentum, channeling Malie’s signature confidence and flair, while showcasing the lavish lifestyle and experiences that have come with his rise to fame.

Collaborations on the project include Squash, Armanii, and Byron Messia, reflecting a collective push toward redefining what dancehall can be.
