“I wanted something real,” said saxophonist Chase Huna about his new single “Just Right” (Mirage Records). “By me…and writing the songs. It’s straight Jazz with R&B and Soul influence.”
The “Just Right” single is written and produced by Huna, and features assistance from Darryl Williams on bass, Gorden Campbell on drums, Carnell Harrell on keyboard. It is from his upcoming album release “Heart and Soul” – his fourth solo album.
“The name of the CD (“Heart and Soul”) came up…while writing these songs,” Chase said when I asked.

Chase was influenced by two-time Grammy winning Paul Brown and Billboard chart-topping Steve Oliver. On February 10, 2025 on the Mirage imprint, the single “Just Right” was released and you can be heard it on March 8, 2025 at Grooves at the Westin at 7pm in Rancho Mirage, California when Chase Huna performs with Peter White and Greg Manning.
I mentioned that he has a great stage presence, and he said he is influenced by the “stage presence of Mindi…it’s so awesome. Can’t get enough of the stage presence of Richard Elliott, Dave Kos, Clarence Clement, Bruce Springsteen…”
The Palm Springs native also has a love for Sade and big band musicians like Glen Miller’s Orchestra. Aside from his solo career he plays his sax for Peter White, Rick Braun, Marc Antoine, Brian Simpson, and Eric Darius.
