And The JUNO Award Nominees For Best Reggae Recording 2025 Are…

Overcoming the 2024 faux pas of trying to eliminate the Best Reggae Recording category, The JUNO Awards, by industry standards, Canada’s highest and most recognized musical honor, has reinstated the category and named their 5 nominees.

To be considered for a nomination for the 2025 JUNO Awards, national music release dates must have fallen between the eligibility period of September 1, 2023 and November 1, 2024, and the lead candidate must be Canadian (proof of Canadian Citizenship / status is required).

This years top picks are not new to the Canadian Reggae landscape.  Past releases luminated their paths giving way for Radio, Soundsystem and fans alike to nod their heads in agreement with the candidates.

Take a look and listen to the 5 nominees:

Lee “Scratch” Perry x Bob Riddim x Evie Pukupoo “Destiny”

Exco Levi “Born To Be Free”

King Cruff & Runkus “Fallback”

Skystar “Sky’s The Limit”

Tonya P “Rise”

Overseen by CARAS (The Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences/L’académie canadienne des arts et des sciences de l’enregistrement), the Awards recognize the best releases in several categories including Reggae Recording of the Year.
